Can't update email address to one with plus sign (+)

If my email address is id@example.com, it won’t let me update it to id+test@example.com because it keeps thinking it’s the “same email address”—it’s not. Let people update it (i.e., stop stripping out everything after the plus sign when comparing email addresses).
